Welcome

At The Stables we want to make everyone's stay as enjoyable as possible. We aim to accurately describe our facilities and services to give you the confidence to decide if this accommodation fulfills your requirements.

At a Glance

Stepped Access

The main entrance has a small step into the covered area, with a further small step into the property.
There is level access from the entrance hall to:
- Bedroom 1: Superking Bed (can be made up as a twin)
- Bedroom 2: Single bed (extra pull-out bed available)
- Main bathroom (there is a step up to the bath)
- En-suite (there is a step up to the shower)

Access with steps

There are steps from the main entrance to:
- The living accommodation (lounge, kitchen and dining area)

Bedrooms

We have non-feathered bedding.

Level access bedrooms

From the entrance hall to the bedrooms, there is level access.
The route to both bedrooms is 840mm wide, or more.
The main bedroom door is 720mm wide, or more.
The door to the second bedroom is 700mm wide, or more.
Both bedrooms have unobstructed floor space 1200mm by 900mm, or more.

Hearing

The TV has subtitles.

Visual

The walls and the doors have high colour contrast.
We can provide information in large print.

Travel by public transport

You can get to The Stables by bus and train.
The nearest bus stop is on The Ropewalk. This bus stop is less than 500 meters from The Stables.
The nearest larger train station is Newark. This train station is 8.7 miles from The Stables.

Travel by taxi

You can get a taxi with Acorn Taxis by calling 07360 157233. The taxi company has a vehicle with a long wheelbase but no ramp.
You can get a taxi with Elkingtons by calling 07970 305339. The taxi company has a wheelchair accessible vehicle.

Parking

We have a private parking space for guests. The parking is less than 10 metres from the main entrance. Parking is free.
From the parking area to the entrance step, there is level access.
There is ample room for unloading.

The path is 2000mm wide, or more.

Main entrance

The main entrance has a 180mm step onto the covered area and a 190mm step over the threshold.
The door is 800mm wide.
The main door is side hung and manual.

Bedrooms

All bedrooms have windows.
Bedrooms have ceiling lights, bedside lamps and natural daylight.
All bedrooms are non-smoking.
We have non-feather bedding.
We can move the bedroom furniture, to improve accessibility.
From the main entrance hall to this area, there is level access.

The route to the main bedroom is 840mm wide, or more. The bedroom door is 720mm wide. There is 1280mm at the side of the bed. The bed is 630mm high.
The bedroom is flexible (either double or twin). The bathroom is ensuite. The bathroom door is 700mm wide.
The bathroom has a 260mm step up to the shower.
There is 350mm at the side of the toilet.
There is 900mm in front of the toilet. The toilet seat is 420mm high.
The taps are turn taps. There is a pedestal under the basin.
The walls and the bathroom fittings have high colour contrast.
The basin height is 770mm.

Accessible bedrooms

Accessible bedroom Single Bedroom

The route to the bedroom is 1200mm wide, or more. The bedroom door is 700mm wide. There is 1400mm at the side of the bed when used as a single room. The bed is 640mm high.
The bedroom is flexible (either single, double or twin). The bathroom is separate. It is not an ensuite.
The bathroom door is 720mm wide.
The bathroom has a bath with a tap with showerhead attachment.
There is more than 1200mm in front of the toilet. The toilet seat is 420mm high.
The basin is 850mm high. The taps are turn taps. There is a pedestal under the basin.
The bath edge is 610mm from the floor, and is on a platform 225mm high.
The platform has colour contrasting tape to mark the edge where you descend

First Floor

The kitchen, dining area and lounge are on the first floor.
From the entrance to the first floor, there is an open tread staircase with a turn part way up.
The staircase has a handrail and colour contrasting, non-slip edging on each step.
The steps are 610mm wide.
The staircase entrance at the top of the stairs is 570mm wide.
The rest of the route to the first floor living area is 1100mm wide, or more.

Lounge

The lounge area is open plan with a large archway and a small step down to the kitchen and dining area.
There are two sofas, seat 420mm from the floor.

Self catering kitchen

Kitchen

We have an open plan kitchen.
There is a 140mm step down into the kitchen, marked by colour contrasting tape.
The work surface has fitted cupboards underneath and is 890mm high.
The hob is at a height of 950mm.
The sink has cupboards underneath and a height of 845mm.
The oven is at a height between 730mm and 1480mm.
The table and plates have high colour contrast.
The crockery is kept in above the counter kitchen wall units but can be moved to base units on request.

Getting around outside

Outside Space

From the main entrance to the outside space, there are 2 steps. There is no lift and no ramp.

The nearest toilet area for assistance dogs is located to the right of the garage.

Emergency evacuation procedures

Emergency evacuation procedures from the first floor living spaces require the use of the open tread staircase.

Customer care support

We can provide information in large print.
The Guest information folder on the coffee table gives details of local services and emergency procedures.
Mobile phone reception is generally good.
